The Earth is a Women From Her Come All Living Things

Women are the Caretakers of Water

Women have been given the role of Keepers of Water in our tradition and ceremony. Men have been entrusted as the Keepers of Fire.

Both fire and water are considered sacred elements for sustaining life. It is said that fire comes from the centre of the Earth and water falls from a great lake in the sky. When the water touches the Earth it becomes the responsibility of the woman.

Water is central to life, the 'spark of life' and it is natural that women as the life givers are the caretakers of water.

Women are the Creators

Women are the creators. We make life, carry life and give birth to life. Mother Earth nourishes us, brings forth new life so that we can have life.

Mother Earth

The Earth is said to be a woman.

She is called Mother Earth because from her come all living things. Water is her lifeblood. It flows through her, nourishing her and purifying her.

Woman is the life giver. She is the carrier of medicines, of food, for survival at all times. Her work must express beauty so that people will enjoy the seeing of art. Woman's work is for the Creator and in everything she does the Creator is included. Women make life, carry life and give birth to life.

Mother Earth nourishes us, brings forth new life so that we can live life.
